The 1st play on my 2011-2012 Broadway Across America Season Tickets. I don’t mind any “Me-time “when it comes to watching plays especially since I’ve realized that I have a tendency to cry at random times during the play. Hahaha…I am emotional when it comes to Broadway. Oh how I love love love musicals and I will never ever get tired of saying it. I guess I made an unconscious effort to dress up since I was already going as a “Loner Loser”, at least I wasn’t an “UGLY Loner Loser”, right? Haha.
For an Opening Night, the musical was pretty polished except for that short break at the beginning due to some technical difficulties but other than that I’d have to say Bravo! Memphis. The music and choreography were exceptional especially the execution of the dance steps–very quick, precise and very period. Although I’d have to say I’d opt for a different ending betwen Huey and Felicia since I’m a sucker for happy-ever-afters but Memphis you did great. Thank you Broadway Across America for bringing the power house cast of Memphis to Houston. And as Huey Calhoun would say…HOCKADOO!
Outside the Theatre. MEMPHIS Opening Night.
