My Favorite New Accessory | A Unique Wood Watch by JORD

*DISCLOSURE: I RECEIVED THESE PRODUCTS COMPLIMENTARY FOR REVIEW PURPOSES. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

When I was single and this blog was self-indulgent, I used to post about my outfits, lookbook, #ootd—call it what you want but those posts were more for me to keep track of my current fashion (since fashion to me is a form of self-expression) and see how my style has evolved through the years. Of course, motherhood happened and I dealt with some sort of anxiety and post-partum issues with my body so I didn’t dress up for a while. You could say I was uninspired, I didn’t feel to good about myself and my body but after baby #2 I learned a whole lot about self-love and also learned the importance of practicing self- care. I’m proud to say that after 3+ years, I’m learning to love my #mombod and have embraced my battle scars (stretch marks, loose skin, weight gain, etc.) from both pregnancies.

Through those years my priorities have changed and my style has also evolved to reflect that. Nowadays I find myself preoccupied with house chores and play dates I no longer have time to think of what to wear and have resorted to a more timeless wardrobe , ‘ the basics‘ as others would call it but think of it this way—they’re reliable and you can never go wrong with it. In my journey of slowly ridding my life of clutter and creating a semi-capsule wardrobe I found myself investing in pieces that will last me a life time and that includes my JORD WATCH. I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about them for a while and so I was overly ecstatic when they reached out to me. I already got myself a Jord Fieldcrest in Maple prior to this collaboration and I wanted Marco to enjoy the same classic timepiece I had so I opted to get him the Jord Hyde in Kosso &Gray These beautifully designed wooden watches have a wide array of options for men and women (as you can see) and they also ship worldwide for FREE so go check them out.

As parents, we cant help but wear different hats multiple times a day. Sometimes I’m a blogger, an influencer, a mom boss and I find a few minutes in those days where I can dress up and look decent like a normal human being. (Even do #OOTDs like the good old days)

But for the most part I am a mother and I try to tend to my kids 24/7 wether we’re at home or out traveling, busy making memories and treasuring the moments that they still enjoy being with me and Marco.

…And lastly, I am a wife. I know life can be overwhelming, for a SAHM watching the kids is a full time job, then you have emails, collaborations to tend to on the side plus house chores to top it all but it’s always important to take the time with your significant other. Even when we’re too busy to have date nights, we take a few minutes to just snuggle, talk about our day and laugh at the crazy things our kids did—these are the moments that count.

In celebration of these special moments in our life and just living life in general I have partnered with Jord watch to give one lucky winner $100 off their very own timepiece selection. Click the link below to join the giveaway:

Bump Style: 14 Weeks

Usually, this time around at 14 weeks, pregnant women don’t show any bump whatsoever but I found myself having to conceal my bump, not that I wasn’t proud of it. It’s just that I knew based on my past pregnancy that the probability of my bump being out there for everyone to see earlier than other women was great and I knew I’d be carrying that BIG bump for the next few months so I guess you can say I just wanted to enjoy a few more weeks dressing up as my regular self. I’m one of those pregnant women who you think are having twins but really their tummy is just excessively big and they show early on during the pregnancy.

14 weeks is a stage where people either start speculating that you’re pregnant or they would just rather think that you gained weight and have a beer belly so it’s safe to say that its that awkward-size stage. I found a pleated dress in my closet, a vintage piece from my grandmother and the pleats helped me conceal my abdominal area, so in photos I don’t look as pregnant as you would see me in real life but I started noticing my arms and thighs “filling up”. I was pretty good concealing that bump for awhile but the morning sickness this time around was unbearable unlike with my pregnancy with Cassie. Different smells would trigger my gag-reflex—Cooking Oil, Garlic, Onion, there were a bunch of things that I couldn’t stand and although I was pretty good holding off on the vomiting part I think not letting it out just made me feel worse inside.

So that pretty much summarizes where I am right now in my pregnancy, gaining weight and feeling puke-y 24/7. Yeah, they should really change what this thing is called coz it’s not just morning sickness…it’s the entire day for me but hey, who says you have to look crappy when you feel crappy right. That’s what dressing up is for. 😀

Sorry, I know nothing on this post is “purchasable” just coz most of it are vintage pieces or thrifted other than the sandals but I hope it inspires you to dress up during your pregnancy even if you feel crappy half the time.

My Little Game-Changer

I started blogging a few years back not for anything else but to destress— destress from work, destress from my family, destress from my Long Distance Relationship, destress in general. All kinds and all sorts. So I blogged; I blogged about my family, I blogged about my little adventures/travels here and there, I blogged about Marco and I blogged about what I liked to wear, and that made me feel good. I don’t know why but it just did. The Social Tumbleweed was what it was, it was a semi-online journal where I could just log in whenever I felt like it and write about the most random things in my life.

Since Cassie, things have been a bit more different, I barely have time to sleep let alone blog and another thing that bothered me was losing all that pregnancy weight. I didn’t like doing #OOTDs because most of the clothes that I normally wear didn’t fit me yet and I refused to buy anything bigger. Well, its been a year and a month since Cassie and I’m slowly finding a way to my “new norm” , life with a baby. I’ve lost my pregnancy weight but I still have that little pouch in my belly that I need to work on, I still enjoy clothes but I’ve realized that I enjoy dressing up Cassie as much as I enjoy dressing up myself, maybe even more.

So here it is, probably my first decent OOTD since I had Cassie.

I’ve slowly started fitting back to my old clothes hence today’s OOTD but I think the main reason why I’m posting one today is because I’m discreetly twinning with Cassie. Did I ever mention that I like to match my baby A LOT? Haha. I’ll probably keep doing that until she’s old enough to tell me to stop. 😀

Today, I am blogging because I think yesterday’s events deserve an entry. Two CRAZY things happened:

ONE– Cassie pooped in her potty for the 1st time (Yay!) I was about to bathe her in the bathtub when I saw her make her “poopie face” and so I grabbed her quickly and had her sit in her potty. Ta-da. Out came the poop. Proud mom here. After I cleaned her up I bathed her, I turned my back for a millisecond to wash the soap of my hands and as soon as I was about to pick her up I saw it…two little poopies floating in the bath tub and she was playing with it.I guess she wasn’t done pooping when I cleaned her up. I freaked out a bit, screamed for my husband to help me and then proceed to bathe her AGAIN and I got over it.

TWO– It was lunch and I was feeding Cassie rice and sausage, I know she’s supposed to sit down in her high chair the entire duration of the meal but she kept whining wanting to go down and I just didn’t want to deal with it after the morning incident so I let her walk around. One of my sisters fed our house dog, Todd, some of her rice scraps earlier and Cassie somehow managed to find her way to Todd’s bowl and rummaged through it. I found her with rice in her hand and she was chewing. Now I honestly don’t know if she was still chewing the rice I gave her or if she placed some of that “dirty rice” in her mouth so of course I freaked out again. Yes, I felt like I won “The Worst Mother of the Year” award  for that day and I decided that I couldn’t handle anymore so I took a break and told Marco he had to take over.

Today, we’re making up for yesterday’s events, we heard mass and had brunch at Black Walnut Cafe with Cassie’s Ninang Gela and Unclie Pierre from Florida. Here’s what my baby and I look like when I’m not making her swim with poop or making her eat dog scraps. I’m kidding.

How it is most of the time, mommy chasing Cassie. 😀

This is my own version of motherhood, it’s far from perfect and full of crazy, disgusting, frustrating accidents that I welcome whole heartedly (as long as I learn from them and most importantly as long as they don’t hurt Cassie). Still loving every single moment of it.

#BOHOLIVIA

I’ve been a sucker for themed parties for as long as I can remember and it amazes me how much fun I have with it even as an adult. You see me blog about someone else’s party and that’s just me appreciating the turn out of the celebration. To other people parties are just parties but it does take a lot of love, time, effort and creativity to pull off something like this especially here in the US where hiring party planners are a bit out of the budget.

So when you see me go all-out on a themed party, that’s just me showing my appreciation. It doesn’t faze me that people think I’m “feeling” the theme too much especially when it’s not my party. They took the time to prepare for it, at least take the time to look prepared and besides dressing up is soooo much fun. I hope Cassie grows up and sees it the way I do.

Here are some snippets of Olivia’s 1st Birthday Party. #Boholivia

And NO Cacay, it’s not #Bohol-ivia, its #Boho-livia. Haha.
