Tesalate Towels: Your “Wild Card” for Mother’s Day

*DISCLOSURE: I RECEIVED THIS PRODUCT COMPLIMENTARY FOR REVIEW PURPOSES. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

So we’ve heard all the hype about these Aussie towels, they’re fun, they’re beautifully designed (they have tons of cute ones, btw) and they boast about being rapid dry, compact, ultra-absorbent and sand free. Sure that’s great and all but what makes it a perfect choice to give to your mom this Mother’s Day? I mean let’s face it, not everyone enjoys the beach and frankly with this current lockdown situation I’m not sure if any of us are going to enjoy the beach anytime soon. Plus, who would want to give their mom a beach towel for Mother’s Day, right? That’s what I thought until I was gifted one and came to realize that all the “hype” IS true.

So I got the Tesalate Into the Wild XL and yes that particular size of towel at 160cm x 160cm / 63 x 63 inches is good for two (or one with multiple kids, haha) all of their claims hold true but what I’ve come to enjoy about this specific towel is its versatility. Yes, I am in love with their designs, it was hard to pick just one design and every mom would just adore this towel during a trip to the beach because you’re not packing all the sand from your kids’ sand castle or beach toys and you won’t have to lug around a beach towel soaked in water but its hard to believe that I enjoyed this towel so much at home while on quarantine.

Here are 4 ways I’ve used my Tesalate towel at home (so far):

1. Sunbathing Towel

The most obvious way to use a beach towel is to use it as it should be but not at the beach so sunbathing in the backyard it is (for now anyway). Staying indoors for quarantine has gotten my skin so pale so when it got a bit warm I decided to soak up the sun.

2. Personal Blanket

It still gets a little bit chilly here in Indiana so I’ve used it to keep me warm and cozy while I binged watched my series or caught up with some of my books during my downtime from the kids.

3. Picnic Blanket

The size I got was just a perfect fit for all of us, we did a spur of the moment picnic with mostly unhealthy snacks and enjoyed spring in our backyard. Cheeseballs FTW!

4. Teepee Rug

We were playing pretend for the afternoon and the kids and I decided that this would make a perfect area rug for their teepee. They pulled out the feather headdresses I made them and voila!

And this is why I’m convinced that this towel would be a perfect “wild card” present for Mother’s day—you can just use it as a “cool” towel but if you want to it can be so much more than that. I mean what mom would not want an “all-around” towel, something you can enjoy at the beach and also at home or something you can enjoy with your kids, with your spouse or  just by yourself. I’m still trying to discover new ways to use my Tesalate beach towel, I have a feeling it would go well with crafts but for now if you’re still unsure about them, click on this link and go check them out.

Enjoy!

Let’s just start by saying that I am NOT a big fan of floral scents because they are either a hit or miss so just to be on the safe side I’ve always just steered clear from it. No offense to my grandmother (or our grandmothers) but “floral scents” bring back childhood memories of overpowering rosy scents and massive headaches that I dare not mention as to not hurt their feelings so I guess you could say that I braced myself on that first spray.

To my surprise my senses welcomed a pleasant scent, a combination of floral and fresh that reminded me of the first few days of spring. You know that time when the grass start to grow and the flowers start to bloom and there’s just droplets of rain that linger in the atmosphere—-THAT. It’s mild and sweet and definitely very feminine and its husband-approved.

This scent has completely changed my perspective on floral scents and I’m not gonna lie, I think I might have enjoyed it. I guess you know what scent I’ll be wearing out this spring. I’ve linked it below so you guys can check them out.

CoverGirl Easy Breezy Brow Draw & Fill

I love the slant tip of this brow pencil and the cushion tip on the other end, it made the process of filling up my brows so easy because it filled up a lot of area in one go compared to the pointed tip brow pencil. The shade went will with the actual color of my brows and it lasted the entire day. I’d definitely purchase this again!

CoverGirl Exhibitionist EyeLiner

This pencil was “easy-glide” in every aspect, you have to be careful when putting it on. Upon application I exerted the same effort I usually do with my old pencil and it came out too dark (almost like a “goth look”) so I would stay light on those fingers, you don’t need a lot to line your eye. In my experience, it took more than half of the day before it showed any signs of smearing. I personally like this eyeliner, it just needs a little getting used to.

CoverGirl Exhibitionist Lipgloss

I honestly have not used lipgloss in a while because I have not found that wasn’t too sticky for me. Surprisingly, this one was light on the lips and easy to apply, it wasn’t sticky at all and it didn’t have a weird scent  (or taste, haha). I also loved how it lasted me for the most part of the day and rarely needed to reapply. Can I also just say that I enjoyed the shade of red that they sent, I’m usually picky with my reds but this one worked for me.

CoverGirl Exhibitionist Uncensored Mascara

As I’ve mentioned in some of my past blog entries, I have short lashes so it takes a lot of good mascara for my lashes to even “show”. It doesn’t take rocket science to figure out how to apply mascara but for some reason I couldn’t understand the brush or the applicator of this one. I didn’t see much of a difference when I applied the mascara, only that it looked darker by a bit. It’s lightweight though, I’d give it that and it also didn’t smear a lot for me so that’s one thing that worked great for me.

All of these came in handy for my everyday mom-look, not all the time I want to look like a mombie so thanks Influenster for sending these my way.

INFLUENSTER: Ole Henriksen Glow Cycle Power Serum

*DISCLOSURE: I RECEIVED THESE PRODUCTS COMPLIMENTARY FOR REVIEW PURPOSES. ALL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS ARE MY OWN.

I’ve never been big on anti-aging products until I finally accepted the reality that I am aging, my skin is aging. I could feel it and I could see it with the appearance of some fine lines in the side creases of my eyes or my mouth when I smile or my forehead when I get mad. Of course the first thing that came up when I started to look at anti-aging products were those with retinol, a lot of them have it so naturally these were the first few products that I tried and anything with retinol was a bit harsh on my skin. My skin would tingle a few minutes after application and I could feel my face burn after being under the sun for even a short while. I knew I had to eventually look for something else because I enjoy being out in the sun too much, I couldn’t just give that up.

Thanks to Influenster for sending me this natural retinol alternative to try out. So, Ole Henriksen has found a product that addresses anti-aging without the ‘harsh’ part, they came up with a natural alternative that contains Bakuchiol to work wonders on the skin. Of course I needed to look up what Bakuchiol was and found out that this ingredient is plant based and is the reason why upon application you feel an instant smoothness to your skin. Another thing I noticed while using this serum was the instant brightness of my skin to the point that it looked like it was “glowing”, I am not exaggerating over here.

(See photos below for reference)

Before ApplicationApplication

Heads up, the serum is purple in color and not as sticky as I expected it would be. It also smells pretty good.

After Application

I am liking the fact that my skin does not sting upon application or after long exposures to the sun. It is sun-friendly in my experience and have read that this safe for pregnant women to use unlike retinol. I’ve also noticed the lightening of some dark spots on my face but have yet to see drastic results in the decrease of those “fine lines” I mentioned earlier. For now, the Ole Henriksen Glow Cycle™ Retin-ALT Power Serum gets a two thumbs up from me.
